When we’re out there shopping for groceries, we know how to compare costs, it comes to us naturally.

We usually look at the price and compare it to the volume or weight of the products offered, and sometimes it’s even broken down for us.

The question that will come to mind, is ‘so, how do you calculate CBD oil prices?

Is a bigger bottle necessarily going to give you a better price?

A simple question to ask yourself when you are faced with this dilemma is whether you’re buying carrier oil or whether you’re actually hoping to buy CBD oil.

Obviously, since CBD is the active ingredient, the volume of the oil itself doesn’t matter as much as the percentage of the CBD that the oil contains.

It’s no use getting a huge bottle of oil with just about no CBD in it. So how do you calculate and compare actual costs?

Before we go into this, don’t forget that CBD oil prices should not be your only consideration.

Do look at the quality of the product in terms of where it comes from, how reliable it is and whether it was extracted in accordance with best practice.

At Canadian Blends Defence, our primary focus is to research and develop innovative hemp extracts and to make them accessible worldwide. We are dedicated to producing the finest and purest CBD oil and to never compromise on quality.

Our primary goal is to develop different high-quality hemp extracts with a broad profile of cannabinoids and other natural molecules found in hemp and identify their distinct properties.

Why Bioavailability Matters!

Something that is important for you to consider when talking about getting real bang for your buck is bioavailability.

Bioavailability is, simply put, how effectively CBD is absorbed into your body and the strength of the compound when it reaches the site of physiological activity.

This is a major component of how beneficial your CBD product turns out to be overall. There are many forms in which CBD is being produced; from suppositories to pastes and ointments, all with different ways of being administered.

So not only is the percentage of CBD within a product important for pricing, but also the strength of the product when it reaches the point in the body where it is needed.

The delivery time also depends on the other ingredients within the product, as well as its form and the administration method you choose.

We can say without a doubt that the most bioavailable way to take CBD is in suppository form.

For many, the thought of having to manually insert pill-shaped medication into the rectum or vagina can be a little unnerving and even inspire dread, but this method has by far the most bioavailability than any other product on the market so far.

The reason for the high bioavailability in this delivery method is that when medication is left to dissolve in the rectum or vagina, it is able to permeate the thin membrane there, where a network of fine blood vessels carry the CBD straight through the bloodstream to where it is needed.

This method is incredibly effective, as it bypasses many of the bodily processes that break down CBD when used sublingually, orally, epidermally, or even through inhalation.

This method is also fantastic as it is effective within 10 minutes of insertion; far more rapid than oral administration.

So How Do You Find the Price of CBD?

How many milligrams of CBD is in a product? If the CBD content is listed as a percentage, you can work this out with the help of some simple calculations.

How many milligrams of CBD are you getting? Multiply this by the percentage to find out how many milligrams of CBD is in the bottle.

So how much does pure CBD oil cost?

Supposing you’re considering buying a 10ml bottle of CBD hemp oil that contains 300mg of CBD, if the bottle costs $32, divide this by 300 to work out the price per milligram of CBD.

You get an answer of 0.11, so you are paying $0.11 per milligram for a 3% CBD product.

Now suppose you are looking at a 10 ml bottle of CBD hemp oil and you know that there are 1500mg of CBD in the oil.

If the CBD oil costs $194, you can divide that by the number of milligrams of CBD you are getting for that price.

Your answer is 0.13, so you are paying $0.13 per milligram of CBD.

But if the value for your money is what you’re after, buying CBD hemp oil suppositories is the product for you.

A box of 500mg of CBD will cost you $61, and when you divide this by the milligrams in the product, this turns out to be 0.12, which means the CBD price per milligram is $0.12.

This is by far the most cost-effective and high bioavailability product we have on the market, so jump on board the suppository train and feel the benefits at a fraction of the cost!

Let’s Compare the Pair!

Some other points to note is when to change course and start on a CBD product with a higher percentage of CBD.

Going from 3% to 15% CBD products is a big step, so in order to make sure you are being cost-effective, you have to be sure that your body needs the higher percentage of CBD. So, how much does CBD oil cost in the 1500 mg products compared to the 300 mg products?

If the 1500 mg product comes in at $194, then the CBD oil cost per milligram would be $0.13, versus the CBD oil cost per milligram for the 300 mg which is $0.11.

It is important to note that because of the higher dosage of the 1500 mg bottle, you would need to titrate it according to what your body needs. To start, you may need to use far less of the 15% than you are used to using for the 3% bottle.

This may mean starting with one drop a day and working your way up until you feel the required effects.

Remember that your body may not be used to this amount at first, so you may need to be very cautious when beginning with higher percentages of CBD.

CBD Rip-offs Alive and Well

If you’re ready to buy some CBD oil for yourself, after you have done the math and seen the product that will give you the best value for money, don’t click buy just yet.

Another point, that some would argue is the most crucial, is where your CBD comes from and the quality of the plant, and therefore the extract of CBD, you are buying.

  • Is your CBD bought in bulk from unregulated companies or in overseas countries, where pollution and bad crops affect the quality of the extract?
  • Does the company provide third-party lab tests, attesting to its quality and CBD content?
  • Does the company adhere to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards?
  • Is your product proven organic?

All these questions are important to think of when you are buying your CBD product. Because anyone who is buying CBD only wants the best and most reliable product.

Some companies rely on a nice, big bottle at a low price for their popularity, but ask yourself what’s in that nice, big bottle.

If there’s no specific amount of CBD mentioned, it may mean that there is probably isn’t much in the oil. If a value is listed, find out how the manufacturer arrived at that amount.

Can you view third-party laboratory tests?

This might sound like a lot of effort, but if you want to use hemp CBD oil as a therapeutic agent, you need to calculate your dose correctly.

Taking too much is a waste and taking too little won’t be effective.

So simply doing some math might not be enough: You also need to do your homework. Is the product manufactured using a clean, professional laboratory or is it from a bucket in someone’s backyard?

Know your hemp oil industry as well as your hemp oil, so you can feel safe in knowing that not only is your CBD hemp oil worth the money, but it’s also efficacious and safe to use.
